I love my country. I love the unity of so many cultures; I love the fact that Americans sew Canadian flags onto their backpacks so people will think better of them; I love how we love our country.
So let's all shout "HAPPY CANADA DAY!" and celebrate the talent we produce, why don't we?
Blood Red Road's author, Moira Young, might live in the UK, but we're glad to claim her as of Canuck origin. And if you want to win a hardcover of Blood Red Road (that's right, no tacky commercialized paperback edition!), just check the terms of my giveaway below and then enter away. :)
Blood Red Road by Moira Young (summary shortened from Goodreads)
Saba has spent her whole life in Silverlake, a dried-up wasteland ravaged by constant sandstorms. But when a monster sandstorm arrives, along with four cloaked horsemen, Lugh is captured, and Saba embarks on an epic quest to get him back.
Suddenly thrown into the lawless, ugly reality of the world outside of desolate Silverlake, perhaps the most surprising thing of all is what Saba learns about herself: she has the power to take down a corrupt society from the inside. Teamed up with a handsome daredevil named Jack and a gang of girl revolutionaries called the Free Hawks, Saba stages a showdown that will change the course of her own civilization.
